Population: Patients in acute care experiencing orthopedic, oncological, cardiovascular, neonatal, and palliative issues, to name a few.
Administered client-centered assistance to patients, including patient education, pain management, and energy conservation training, such as breathing techniques. Attended interprofessional meetings with social workers, speech language pathologists, physical therapists, pharmacists, nutritionists, nurses, and MDs.
Population: Individuals between ages 18-24 experiencing homelessness
Planned weekly interventions for residents, minded in IADL skills, self-care, and leisure. Promoted self-efficacy, independence, and self-esteem throughout the transition from the shelter setting into the community.
Administered assessments (standardized and observation-based), planned intervention sessions, and performed daily documentation for each student in the style of the facility. Performed ADL interventions, as well as transitional skill training and behavior management. Engaged in interventions on-site and in the community through community-based instruction (CBI). Created education handout for facility for safe usage of Essential Oils in aromatherapy with children.
Population: Adult student veterans between the ages of 20 and 60

Program Developed: Armed for Self-Advocacy (AFSA) is a 1:1 Telehealth occupational therapy-based program focused on serving the mental health needs of student veterans. The program itself aims to counter the stigma surrounding mental health in the military and veteran populations, advocating for the integration of positive help-seeking behaviors through a fostering of self-awareness and self-advocacy. This IRB-approved program was created as a method of exploring the role of occupational therapy in higher education support networks for student veterans. Based on the results from the sample group of the study, occupational therapy-based services demonstrated the potential to effectively support student veterans in their transition from the military to collegiate life.
